The UV ink itself may cost approximately US$0.01 for a 100 × 100 mm logo or about US$0.03 for near-full-wrap artwork on a 500 ml insulated bottle.
However, these figures represent estimated ink consumption—not the price a buyer will see in a supplier’s quotation. The actual UV printing charge also includes machine setup, artwork preparation, white ink, gloss or raised layers, labor, cleaning, rejected pieces and production overhead.
Estimated UV Ink Cost per Bottle
For a 100 × 100 mm print area, one supplier calculation indicates that one liter of UV ink can cover approximately 70–80 square meters. Using the higher ink price and lower coverage figure:
- UV ink price: approximately US$67 per liter
- Print area: 0.01 square meter
- Estimated output: approximately 7,000 prints
- Estimated ink cost: approximately US$0.01 per bottle
For near-full-wrap printing on a 500 ml bottle, the supplied equipment example uses approximately 0.6 ml of ink per bottle. Its estimated ink cost is approximately US$0.03 per bottle.
These are calculation examples based on the supplied equipment-maker information. Actual consumption should be confirmed through production testing because different machines, ink systems and artwork produce different results.
Why Is the Quoted UV Printing Price Higher?
Ink is only one small part of the UV printing cost. A factory quotation may also include:
- Machine setup and bottle positioning
- A fixture for the selected bottle shape
- White ink beneath colors on dark surfaces
- Additional layers for raised or gloss effects
- Surface preparation or adhesion treatment
- Artwork adjustment and color checking
- Sample production and approval
- Cleaning, electricity, labor and rejected pieces
- Production quantity and required print coverage
A small single-side logo normally requires less printing time than a full-wrap design. Raised UV, gloss varnish and multiple ink layers also increase production time and material consumption.
Bottle geometry matters as well. Straight cylindrical bottles are usually easier to position and print than strongly tapered bottles, curved shoulders or bottles with handles.
What Should Buyers Send for an Accurate Quote?
To obtain a useful quotation, provide the bottle model, capacity, surface finish, artwork file, print dimensions, print position and order quantity.
You can first select a suitable model from our wholesale insulated stainless steel water bottles. For available print coverage, raised effects, bottle compatibility and sample approval requirements, see our UV printing options for insulated stainless steel bottles.
The practical answer is therefore: the ink may cost only about US$0.01–$0.03 per bottle, but the complete UV printing price depends on the artwork, coverage, bottle surface, production setup and order quantity.
