Custom Stainless Steel Drinkware Mold Service

We help brands turn drinkware concepts into production-ready designs through engineering-driven mold development and risk-controlled workflows.

From Design Input to Production-Ready Tooling

We review customer 3D design files and related drawings, and convert them into tooling-ready specifications for stainless steel drinkware production.

Custom stainless steel drinkware mold development process from design input to mass production

Engineering-Driven Mold Development Steps

Clear inputs → engineering review → prototype validation → tooling and scale production.

STEP 1

Design Input Review & Feasibility

Choose one file format to start — we’ll confirm feasibility and quote with manufacturing accuracy.

  • STP / STEP 3D files (preferred — most accurate for cost calculation)
  • CAD drawings (2D/3D) with full dimensions (optional alternative)
  • Component data table (pics, name, size, qty, material, grams)
  • Sketches can be reviewed, but structure and pricing may change if key details are missing.
STEP 2

Engineering Optimization

YourBottle proposes practical improvements based on manufacturing experience—so the design is buildable, stable, and consistent in mass production.

  • Double-wall vacuum structure
  • Stretching height & forming limits
  • Wall thickness distribution
  • Welding / trimming zones
  • Threading, sealing & internal lid structure
  • Custom lids & closures are a core engineering capability.
STEP 3

Prototype Validation (3D Printing)

Low-cost physical validation before high-cost tooling begins.

  • Validate appearance & proportions
  • Check lid fit & functional logic
  • Identify issues before tooling
  • USD $20–30 per sample (approx.)
  • 7–10 days after final STP confirmation
STEP 4

Tooling & Scale Production

After the mold fee is confirmed, we start fabrication and move into stable production.

  • Confirm mold fee & start fabrication
  • High-precision mold manufacturing
  • T0 / T1 sampling & approval
  • Mass production with QC, assembly & packaging

Minimum Order Quantity & Development Timeline

Key commercial requirements and typical lead times for custom mold projects.

Minimum Order Quantity

After mold customization: 10,000 units

Custom tooling requires dedicated tubing preparation for your design, so production starts from 10,000 units.

Typical Timeline

  • 3D prototype: 7–10 days
  • Mold fabrication: 35–40 days (depending on complexity)
  • Bulk production: 30–35 days

Key Requirements Before Starting a Custom Stainless Steel Drinkware Mold

To ensure feasibility, accurate cost evaluation, and stable mass production, the following information and conditions should be clarified in advance.

Recommended Design Inputs

Option A (Preferred)

STP / STEP 3D model files

Preferred for structural and tooling feasibility review, and the most reliable format for accurate cost evaluation.

Example of a STP/STEP 3D bottle model file view for feasibility review
Example of a STP/STEP 3D component model view for tooling feasibility
Option B

CAD drawings (2D or 3D)

Provide clear dimensions for the bottle body and key components for feasibility review and quoting.

Required

Component data table

Include component images, names, dimensions, quantities, material requirements, and unit weight (grams) — especially for lids and internal structures.

If you don’t have a complete 3D design yet, please talk to us first. We can confirm feasibility with our sales engineers before you invest in creating 3D files, since 3D modeling is also a project cost.

Simple sketches or reference drawings can be reviewed for direction only. Final mold structure and quotation may vary if key technical details are missing.

If You Don’t Have a Complete 3D Design

You may submit reference products, hand sketches, or basic dimension drawings. Our engineering team will evaluate whether existing molds or in-stock products can meet your requirements, or assist in converting your concept into a production-ready 3D structure.

Before committing to tooling, we strongly recommend validating the design with a 3D-printed prototype to confirm appearance and functionality at a low development cost.

Minimum Order Quantity & Mold Clarification

Once a custom mold is confirmed, the minimum order quantity is 10,000 units. This requirement exists because custom molds require dedicated stainless steel tubing, which has its own raw material purchase MOQ.

If your expected volume does not reach this level, you are welcome to send us your drawings or concept. We can evaluate existing molds or stock solutions to help reduce initial investment.
